Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Totem at the arboretum

I headed south from Skagit Valley to work on some geocaching goals and found myself at Lake Wilderness Park and Arboretum for the first time. What a great place! There is something to do for everyone from disc golf to pickleball to tennis to hiking to orienteering and much more!  The trails are in great shape! Although there were many cars in the various parking lots, I certainly didn't see many people. I parked at the disc golf area and just started hiking. All trails are mostly flat, wide and well marked. There are some smaller trails that appear to be official trails.  This is a great place to bring kids and/or dogs. There are also connections to the Cedar and Green Rivers trail, too.
