Trip Report

Mount Spokane State Park - Trail 182 — Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024

Eastern Washington > Spokane Area/Coeur d'Alene
Upper Trailhead for Trail 182 at Mt Spokane State Park

Well, someone has to write the first trip review for the new WTA built Trail 182 at Mt Spokane. Finished within the last week, this trail is a fun walk thru the woods. Accessed about a quarter mile past the gate at the end of Day Mountain road this new trail makes a nice 6.3 mile loop from the gate. We hiked up the Day Road about 2.8 miles to the Kit Carson Loop Road. Turn left at the KC Loop and go about a third of a mile to the top of 182, then proceed down 182 back to the Day Gate. Lots of dedicated WTA Volunteers worked on this trail over the past four years and now we can all enjoy this trail.
Expanded parking and a vault restroom are in the long term plans for the park, but for now parking is just a wide spot on a gravel road.

Thank you WTA Volunteers!
