Was scouting for snowshoe locations. Decent amount of snow in the area, much of it has been hard packed giving it a nice cronch cronch sound.
We wondered around the campground to see snow levels, then took wagon wheel trail to the falls. Trail is a mixture of dirt patches, icy snow and sheets of ice- I’d say traction divides are vital. On the final descent to the falls there snow there has melted and frozen in thick cascading sheets of ice. We did not venture down past that. Took the road back to the parking lot. Foot of snow on road- with old tire ruts visible and some bare spots in direct sun areas
Overall lovely day, blue sky’s with clouds
About 30 cars in the parking lot when we left

Commenting as a person who also loves the cronch cronch only snow makes. This report made me giggle. Thank you!
