Note that the vault toilet mentioned in the directions was closed with notice saying it was full. I would plan on that being the case and use facilities in Arlington/Darrington. Though the tree mentioned in the other trip reports hasn't been fully removed on the access road, it is no problem to navigate.
The river and waterfalls are gorgeous. The trail was in good shape, with the usual few muddy spots mentioned in the description (easy to navigate through/around). We passed a bunch of small family groups, but it wasn't crowded and we could make a bit of space for ourselves. Expect company at the waterfalls and view points.
