Meadowdale Beach Park - Lunds Gulch — Friday, Jul. 25, 2025

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

Did an evening hike around 7:30pm. The parking lot was maybe half-full to less than half-full. Easy to find a spot. It was a lovely, warm evening to catch a sunset. Well-maintained wide trail. Lovely foliage. A lot cooler in the shade of the trees.

When we got to to the opening, we went left and walked under the railroad bridge. It was so cool! There were maybe 5 people or less on the beach so plenty of space to find a log to sit and enjoy the sunset. We brought a blanket to bundle up. A train passed and we waved to it and the conductor opened their window and waved back! The tide was lower so we looked at some of the crabs. Also saw some herons and an eagle flying overhead and sitting on the trees.

It was around 8:30 when we left and it was very dim on the trail. Would bring a headlamp next time if we stayed until the sun had fully set. Beautiful hidden oasis.
