Hall Mountain — Monday, Aug. 11, 2025

Eastern Washington > Selkirk Range
So many mountains!

We camped at Sullivan Lake - Noisy Creek and day hiked Hall Mountain. This was my second time doing this trail and it's no joke. It's a haul - much sweat equity invested in reaching the summit and incredible views. I was glad I had taken 2 liters of water. I used most of it before we were back down to the stream and able to get more (had taken our filters).

The difference between the first time I hiked this, soon after the big fire there, and now was really striking. New growth seen with thousands of baby trees racing to the sky - about waist high now. There was a trail work party in progress, though we didn't personally see them - they were on the feeder trail from the short option. We saw the hundreds of downed trees that had been cut and removed this season and much brushing and treadwork recently done. And a new bridge that looks to have been installed this year across Noisy Creek. Thank you SO much for all the work, crews!
