Arrived shortly after sunrise and had the trail mostly to ourselves which was surprising for a Holiday weekend! We saw only 1 other group until near the end of heading out. This hike is so beautiful and the morning light did not disappoint! Plenty of rock, root, climb, bridges, water, and foliage to make for a fun and tiring time!
Road in has some potholes but nothing too crazy. There were some bugs, but it was expected with the humidity and they weren’t a bother at all. There are some spots along the trail that require a little extra caution if you’re tired, but that doesn’t happen until after the first falls. It’s a fairly easy hike to the first falls, moderate to the 2nd falls, and just long and a tad wet/muddy to the river.
Loved this hike and will definitely do it again! My high energy young dog was snoring on the way home - a sign of a great hike!
