Started 5 am at Dog Lake and made good time into Jess Lake. Started at Jess, hit Pipe and Long John, and a couple of pothole lakes as well, Dumbbell is so shallow this time of year.
Hunters are in full effect in this area, and numerous established camps exist. Talk to some fellows base-camped at Pipe for 3 weeks. Needless to say, they had been fishing - a lot. Passed a wagon trail of horses between Dumbbell and the PCT carrying more stuff in, so yeah. Wear bright colors.
Fishing was slow, but managed some serious chunks between Jess and Pipe. Trail is awesome as always. Some new blow-downs have been dealt with and be on the lookout for trial friends. Lost track of total miles today, it was a few.
