Blowdown on West Peak Trail, but should be easy to get over for most hikers
I parked at the Mountainside Dr trailhead and set out on the Bullitt Fireplace trail. Took a right on Chybinski Loop - I love this trail with soft tread, gradual elevation gain, stream crossings and more diverse northwest trees, compared to the straight up Fireplace trail.
I could see recently cleared blowdowns throughout my hike today with fresh sawdust on the trails - thank you!
Going up West Peak there is a tree across the trail that's not cleared yet, I didn't have any difficulty crossing it. There's another one that's been across the trail for a while when going back down on the West Peak trail, but shouldn't be too hard to get across either.
The climb straight up the hill just after you descend West Peak is always fun.
There is lots of erosion in some of the trails, be careful of post holing when we get some snow. In some areas the streams are still flowing over the trail, in one area I was able to divert it into the side hill of the trail by digging a foot length of dirt and rock with my hiking pole, but a shovel will quickly fix this - the water is not getting to the side ditches or hills.
