Quick walk around the Lakehills Greenbelt and Phantom Lake loop trails this morning between storm systems. The trails remain a combination of typical suburban paved, graveled and elevated board walk. Both Phantom and Larsen lake levels are high though are not currently flooding any trail area, (it does appear they had recently as there are some cones and closure signs pushed aside.) Parking at either the Larsen lake blueberry farm lot or Phantom lake is free though somewhat limited. Both full restrooms at Larsen and Phantom are open, Larsen is in excellent condition, Phantom less so with what appeared to be at least one, maybe two, car hobos in the parking lot as well. The trails provide nice views of both lakes, the blueberry farming area and the wetlands along the distance. Wildlife was somewhat limited this morning, a few mallards at Larsen, a few ringnecks and bufflehead at Phantom plus one redtail hawk that took off way in the distance. An easy little walk with some nice views if you are in the area.
