Came up to play in the snow today, and I was worried because the road was dry the entire way almost up until the exit. However, there was plenty of material for snowballs and forts. Probably 4-8 inches or so. I was expecting to find some big field to play in, but we mostly just played in the parking lot. There is also some space to play by the trailhead behind the bollards.
From 1-5pm there were at most maybe 10-12 vehicles in the lot. The lot was not plowed, so it was hard to figure out where the actual parking spots were, but since there is capacity for 40, there was plenty of space for cars plus snow play.
After playing in the parking lot, we hiked the Asahel Curtis Nature Loop. We hiked without spikes, and it was mostly fine, but a little slippery at a few points. There were 3-4 trees downed on the trail which we needed to go over or under. Hiked with 3 kids who enjoyed playing in the snow along the trail. The kids rated the trail 3/10, 7/10, and 4/10.
