My friends and I wanted to hike today but we wanted to escape the rain 😅😅
So, we decided to hike Baldy mountain in the hopes of catching some blue skies.
We started from the trailhead at 10:15am. We decided to do the lollipop and hike up counter clockwise so we could tackle 2000 ft in 2 miles . We then hiked the stick to the summit. Throughout on the way to the summit, we were completely socked in.
We got a few beautiful peekaboo views at the summit.
The trail is well marked. There was absolutely no snow/ice on the trail.
However, the trail was muddy in few places. We had to be careful on our way down. Hiking poles tremendously helped. We did see some blue skies on our way down. The Yakima river and the canyon looked absolutely stunning.
Throughout the hike we saw only 4 people and 2 dogs. My friends have convinced me that this is a beautiful hike in spring and I cant wait to be back.
My garmin recorded 4.7 miles RT with 200Oft of elevation gain. Overall a beautiful day and a beautiful hike with stunning views!
