Rampart Ridge Snowshoe — Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026

We passed zero hikers on the trail on this Thursday morning. Longmire parking lot was empty at 9:30 am and still empty at 1 pm. We didn’t need the snowshoes as no more than 6” snow along the ridge line. Compacted snow and ice starting on the switchbacks and for most of the trail so microspikes were a must wear. A few trees down with only one being difficult and requiring a low crawl under. Beautiful sunny day.
