Double Bluff — Saturday, Mar. 7, 2026

Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island
Beach and Bluff

There were lots of people out and even more dogs, everyone including the canines behaving well. It was cloudy with a cold wind but better than what is forecast for the coming week, so people were taking advantage of a dry day. To say the trail was in good condition is an understatement as there was a low daytime tide providing about eighty yards of beach to walk on and lots of tide pools to check explore. It looks like there has been several recent slides off the bluff and currently some unstable sections.

The parking lot was full but there was still plenty of space along the road. There were four restrooms open-two vault type and two porta-potties.
