Trip Report

Navaho Peak, Earl Peak & Navaho Pass — Thursday, Jul. 4, 2013

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
We started at the Stafford Creek trail head. We hiked past the meadow and found a camp site off the trail a bit (about 6 miles total - lots of up hill - might not be good for kids). There was plenty of water in the form of small creeks. We set up camp and then took satellite trips the following days to Navaho Peak and Earl peak. The trail to Navaho peak is maintained, but the trail to Earl peak requires a bit of scrambling and might not be good to do with kids or dogs. It was really nice to buy the Green Trails map from REI - it helped us navigate a lot. The mosquitos were a serious problem - in fact, we left a day early because the mosquitos drove us insane. We also had to keep the campfire going just to be able to enjoy any time at camp due to the mosquitos. It was also very sunny, so be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen/hats/etc. But the views from the peaks were worth all the bug trouble!
