Trip Report

Dodger Point — Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014

Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast
Dodger Point Lookout

Did a 27 mile day hike from Whiskey Bend, up to Dodger Point Lookout at 5760'. (Yeah, my legs are kinda sore) Left the Whiskey Bend TH arriving at the lookout 6 hours later. There were 50+ trees across the trail, but most could be stepped over or gone under. Trail is in good shape otherwise. There is NO water to be found in the meadow directly below the lookout (as found in years past) and only a small seep found on trail about a half mile below the meadow, above two stagnant ponds. Apparently reliable, flowing water found on trail at about 4100'. Didn't see a single person this entire day.

27 miles in one day!?!

Holy cow. No wonder your legs are sore. Thank you so much for the report on this remote spot (with all the good water info, too.)
