Copy map at home. Sometimes available at the Whitaker Trailhead kiosk. Easy to get turned around even with the well signed trails.
An easy hike as an out and back, a cross-mountain link with the Red Town and Quarry Trails, or a loop with the intermediate N. Gombu Cliff trail. A small amount of flow in the Coal Creek Falls and creeks, but pretty nevertheless.
Lots of neat tree stumps, bridges, creek crossings, and erratics.
Boardwalks and boulders.
Caves too.
