Name of Hike: McClellan Butte Miles: 9.6 Round Trip Elevation Gain: 3600' Highest Elevation: 5162' Grade/Difficulty: 7.1%/Intermediate to Hard Notable Views: Wildflowers, Small Waterfalls, Great Mountain Views Road Conditions: Just off I-90, Suitable for all vehicles Other Things to Consider: Tons of mosquitos, several downed trees, snowfield at one stream is extremely difficult/dangerous to navigate. Saw several groups turn back before or struggle crossing. Possible to cross with experience/equipment. Should be melted in a few weeks. Final Impressions: Beautiful but difficult hike. Trail conditions are not great but manageable. Probably better to wait a few weeks for the ice to melt and trees to be cleared.
