Trip Report

Hope and Mig Lakes — Sunday, Sep. 25, 2016

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
Trail Conditions
My wife and I reached the trailhead at 1:00 PM and finished at 4:30. I agree with earlier assessments of the access road - suitable for all vehicles if care is taken to avoid potholes and ruts. We encountered another 7-8 cars parked along the road at the trail head and encountered around 16 individuals (and about 5 dogs) in various groups on the trail. The trail was as described in earlier reports - steep. However, it is also rocky, rooted and narrow (in several sections) making footing possibly tricky (especially downhill) if one isn't paying attention. We had sunny weather in the mid 60's and started with vests that were quickly as we settled into the climb. The lakes were pristine, mirror surfaced and silent - we had them to ourselves. Blueberries were available.Highly recommend this hike.
