We were the first ones to get to the lake since the last snowfall as it was fresh snow for most of the trail. A few larger branches that are frozen on the trail but easy to walk over and 1 tree that you have to either go under or around. Otherwise trail is pretty clear. We made it very close to the lake with hiking boots although post holed once or twice so we put on snowshoes at that point. Carried micro spikes but did not use them. The parking lot is extremely icy.
