We happened upon Storm King Trail after finding out Sol Duc Road was closed because of snow conditions we assumed.
Storm King Trail was incredible and well worth the intense hike up. At about 1,500ft, the trail became entirely snow covered but manageable with the right shoes. It was a burner going up but well rewarded with the views from the top and the fun snow hike continuing. We turned around at the end of the maintained trail being out-of-towners and not entirely confident going beyond, but even at the turn-around, we felt accomplished. Going down took some time as expected but being aware of your step is all that was necessary. We lucked out on weather, but qould definitely recommend the hike, even with the trail conditions as they were.
