Great early season hike to point 6700 on Basalt Ridge. Road clear to trailhead. Snow with no trail for last 1.5 miles but navigation not too difficult since on ridge. GPS helpful.
Views from top were spectacular - from Rainier to Stuart to Chiwaukms and Icicle Ridge to Mt Howard to Buck Mtn, Clark Fortress, and Maude- to name a few. Few glacier lilies but early for flowers.
