Kopachuck State Park Trail — Sunday, Apr. 28, 2019

Olympic Peninsula > Kitsap Peninsula
Cutts Island

Reached Kopachuck State Park at 11:30am. There were maybe a dozen cars in the huge parking lot.

Carried our boat down to the beach and paddled over to Cutts Island. Our plan to hike to the top of Cutts Island was thwarted by nesting geese, so instead we just walked the pebble beach around the island (easy, even with the tide at almost 8ft).

After paddling back and stowing away the boat, we hiked a loop connecting the North Loop Trail, Middle Loop Trail, Upper Loop Trail (paved trail through a closed campground), and the Interpretive Loop Trail. The Beach Loop Trail was closed due to landslides.

No issues with any of the trails, and few people away from the beach.

Good report. This state park wasn't really on my radar. Also (off topic) - I noticed you have an advanced elements kayak in the photo set. Been eyeing one for a few years. How do you like it?

See my review at https://www.advancedelements.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2085&p=8771; I still think it's the best option for an inflatable boat that works reasonably well in flat water, too! You're welcome to borrow it for a test paddle...

Oh this was awesome. Thanks! You are the second or third trusted person I know who likes the company, so it's prolly time to just, er, dive in.
