Diary of Kaylee, First Canine Engineer of the good ship Bluestreak, Firefly Class,
Star date 04072022
Finally convinced the captain to take me camping after being stuck in that stuff house for over a month! A canine such as myself needs to get out!
Star lanes were clear of snow and reavers. Probably due to the cloudy weather, but according to the captain this is the less traveled route to Mt. Townsend. Silver creek trail was so beautiful! So many waterfalls to jump into! Some tricky creek crossings, but I love getting my paws wet.
Plenty of camp sites along Silver Creek and all-around Silver Lake. A bit too cold to swim in though this weekend, much to my captain’s disappointment. He kept muttering about ghosts and the fog… I worry about him sometimes.
Trail between Silver Lake and Camp Windy is clear except for two blow downs. Suspecting a reaver ambush I was ready to run!
Being the explorer that my captain is, we took a detour along the cloud cover ridge too Welch’s Peak, turning around at a Class 4 scramble due to a lack of gear, and a trained climbing assistant. Come on! We were short roping the whole time!
The constant rain from a cloud socked Mt. Townsend made our stay short. Simply no visibility to see approaching Alliance or Reaver ships, so we made our way home early instead of waiting for the Independence Day fireworks show. Those aliens do put on a good show though I must say.
