We arrived at this state park at 9 today. The parking lot was closed due to a horse event in the park. We were directed to park across the street in the church parking lot, which we did.
We hiked two loops: Cougar and Trillium. Both loop trails were in great shape with no mud or obstacles. This is a great trail system for a pleasant hike in the woods. The trails provide nice scenery and peace and quiet in a close-in, urban setting. About six horses passed us on the trails. There were many trail runners today and a few hikers, but not many.
We encountered many horses in the parking lot on their way to the arena.
Hiking the two loops we logged about 6.5 miles and 500' in elevation.
We'll be back!
