What a beautiful hike. Very pleasant miles... Spicy ascent and scramble over bean peak but nothing too crazy overall.
Bean peak basin to the peak had no snow. Two goats at the peak though which made us slow our role mid scramble of course. It was way too close, closer than we wanted to be to multiple goats while managing to complete a more technical portion of the summit block.
After a long waiting contest we edged our way higher... Too find that the trail continued away from the goats - only after closely passing their location- it was uncomfortable for all parties i believe, goats and humans, but luckily the passing was brief.
The hike under and around volcanic neck was okay, no snow. snow on devil's head. There are more scrambles to get there, it takes longer than it looks.
Hard Scrabble Creek area was covered in snow, and we easily lost the trail however easily followed the terrain and caught the trail a bit lower just following the drainage and creek. Lots of traversing over snow continued but it was very easy to stick with the trail even with the snow. Eventually snow ends.
Left hand turn on Fourth Creek trail was very pretty though short duration of that bit.
Beverly turnpike. Nice flowers up to the trail, glacier lilies and trillium mostly, some phlox. Awesome views of Mary and Judi and iron peak. Thank you trail workers! I saw lots of saw dust and I only noticed a couple small blow downs closest to the junction, wow!!!
