Six hikers tell us why they are WTA members.

Washington Trails Association’s 27,000 members make a huge difference for trails each year. Their donations add up to fund 56% of WTA’s work — we truly could not do what we do without these vital community members.

Will you join us in building a path forward for trails by donating today?

WTA members have shared why they give back to trails. Here are their stories:

Trails can be life changing

“In awe of all that WTA does after recently moving to Washington and exulting in the BEAUTY of the scenery made accessible by the well-kept trails. Feeling awfully lucky to be here, and WTA is a big part of the reason!” —Carolyn

"Just finished backpacking section H of the PCT between Bridge of the Gods and White Pass — thank you for all of your invaluable work maintaining WTA website, trail descriptions, and trip reports in addition to maintaining the trails themselves. They have been life changing to me and appreciate that they are free to access for each and everyone." — Ashley

WTA creates a community for hikers

“We saw a great WTA trail crew working on the Tunnel Creek trail on the Olympic Peninsula. There were nine of them and they made a lot of progress. We really appreciate their service.” — Susan

"Thank you so much for all your work on Washington's trails, and advocacy for the outdoors! One of the most unique things about living in WA state is having such a strong community dedicated to the trails." — Alex

It was just time to give back

It’s about time I donated to you all, after a decade of using your trail map!” — Kim Bevier

“We ran into a Washington Trails Association crew working on the Coastal Forest Trail at Cape Disappointment State Park yesterday. My wife and I enjoy hiking so much that I decided it was time to join up.” — Ralph Warner

Thank you, members for making such a positive impact on the Washington trail community. If you value WTA’s work to help you get outside, please make a donation before the end of the year.
