Live in Pierce County? You could make the difference in a Washington State legislative vote on the transportation package that will help fund outdoor recreation.

In the waning days of the special session, the legislature is considering a transportation package that could increase the gas tax by 10.5 cents, allocating a portion of that to outdoor recreation. The transportation package would accomplish this by ensuring that NOVA and other fuel-tax funded recreation programs get their fair share of the fuel tax.

How to take action today

Senators Becker, Dammeier and O'Ban need to hear from you. They are open to a transportation package and could provide the deciding votes. If you live in the 2nd, 25th, or 28th districts (all in Pierce County) please call your State Senator and ask him or her to support ESHB 1954, which provides substantial funding for outdoor recreation.
