Outreach volunteer are like ambassadors for Washington Trails Association. You help out at local events, talking up hiking and WTA to the general public. Generally, these events are set up where WTA is at one of several tables or booths that represent various organizations. People browse the booths and stop by to ask questions and check out the hiking material. Throughout your volunteer shift, you will probably have many quick conversations with lots of great people who want to know a little bit more about WTA.
Being an outreach volunteer a fun way to check out local festivals, get to know other outdoor enthusiasts, inspire new hikers and help spread the word about all WTA does to protect and promote trails.
Spring is festival season so there are tons of upcoming events where you can help out. For more information or sign up as an outreach volunteer email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
