The Seattle Parks and Recreation Department invites hikers and other Seattle residents to attend a public meeting next Tuesday to discuss the city's plan for soft surface trails.

The Seattle Parks and Recreation Department invites hikers and other Seattle residents to attend a public meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 20 to discuss the city's plan for soft surface trails.

The Parks and Recreation Department will present the Soft Surface Trails Plan for public input. This document will provide recommendations for trail maintenance standards, the process to determine new trails and overall guidance for the city's trail system. It will also provide an outline for future funding opportunities.

A soft surface trail is a non-paved trail. Just a few of the trails that could be impacted by the trails plan include:
