Highest charity rating for WTA (again!)
Good news, Hikers!
Charity Navigator, the nation's largest charity evaluator, just awarded Washington Trails Association a fourth consecutive 4-star rating for sound fiscal management. That's their highest possible rating.
The rating means that if you've recently become a member, renewed or made a special contribution, you know that your contribution is being used efficiently for trails. And if you're considering becoming a member during our member drive, you can rest assured that we'll use your gift effectively and where it's needed most.
WTA has always worked hard to put member contributions to good use. It's easy to see for yourself each time you:
- Hike a trail that has been repaired, maintained or built by WTA volunteers (see
the 2009 list here);
- Peruse our website and discover the treasure-trove of hiking information in our Hiking Guide, Trip Reports or Suggested Spring Hikes; or
- Read the Washington Trails magazine and learn about our other important work - helping to save places like Mount Si from state budget cuts, introducing families and teens to the joys of the outdoors, and more.
We won't deny it. It sure is nice to receive this recognition yet again from one of the nation’s leading charity evaluators. It makes WTA one of only 8% of the charities rated by Charity Navigator to have received this honor four consecutive times or more.
If you're new to WTA, have a look around the website. We think you'll like what you see. And when you're properly inspired, you can join WTA right here.
