Icicle Road construction: Road repair and rockfall mitigation work starts April 14 on Icicle Road between the Snow Lakes trailhead to Eightmile Campground and is expected to continue through June. The road will be closed to all users, including pedestrians and bicyclists, every Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The road will be open to alternating one-way traffic at all other times. Travelers should expect delays.
State park campground same-day reservations: Visitors to any reservable Washington State Parks campgrounds in 2025 have the option of booking same-day reservations until 2 p.m. on the day they plan to camp. This applies to campground reservations only, and does not include roofed accommodations, vacation rentals, yurts or day-use facilities. First-come, first-served camping is still available after 2:30 p.m. Reservations can be made online or by calling 1-888-CAMPOUT.
Riverside State Park closures: Starting this April, several Riverside State Park trails will be closed this spring and summer due to a forest health treatment project in the vicinity. The project is meant to reduce wildfire risk and remove unhealthy trees from the forest. Expected closures include the McLellan and Deep Creek trailheads, segments of the Centennial Trail, parts of Trails 25, 230, 400, 402, 403 and the entire Osprey Loop. All trails are expected to open in the fall.
