It’s May 30. June 1 is National Trails Day! Be aware of a few closures that might affect your hiking plans. And Darn Tough has created a new line of socks made for wide feet. Here’s some news you may have missed while out on trail this week.

Happy National Trails Day! Saturday, June 1, is National Trails Day, a day to advocate for and maintain our trails. Looking for a way to celebrate? Join WTA on trail at Blanchard Mountain or Mount Spokane to do some trail work, or look on the American Hiking Society’s website to find an event near you!
Closures: Keep the following closures in mind as you’re planning your next adventure:
- Kopachuck State Park will be completely closed from June 3 through the summer of 2025 for construction The project includes building a new amphitheater, playground and rentable day-use facility.
- The trail bridge on the Johnson-Medra Creek trail is closed until further notice due to damage.
