Thankful for the outdoors: If you’re looking for alternatives to the usual holiday festivities, consider these 6 outdoor activities to celebrate the season. And, on the Friday after Thanksgiving, choose to #OptOutside, by going for a walk or hike instead of shopping. Wherever the holiday weekend takes you, remember to Recreate Responsibly by following these new guidelines specific to winter recreation.
Funding forest service projects: The national forests in the PNW received funding from the Great American Outdoors Act, and now they are in the process of determining which projects to move forward with. The public has until November 30, 2020 to comment on their list of potential projects.
Events to go virtual: The Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest recently announced the cancellation of their winter in-person events. Instead of their usual programming that includes eagle watching trips and guided snowshoe trips, they are working to transition to virtual events. Stay tuned for more info.

Have a safe and fun weekend!
