Finish your summer off right with a week in the beautiful William O. Douglas Wilderness. WTA has added an incredible late summer hiking, backpacking and trail maintenance opportunity to work on the Pacific Crest Trail.

This trip is open to teens ages 15 to 18 with some previous trail maintenance experience.

A week learning, working hard and relaxing outdoors

Join your crew leaders starting on August 20 at Goodwin Meadows along Section I of the PCT. You’ll camp and work in the shadow of Mount Rainier while saying hello to all the thru-hikers you’ll see as they make their way north to Canada.

Horses and mules will transport food tools and group gear to your campsite while you carry all your personal gear on a moderate 5-mile hike through the wilderness. In addition to hiking, backpacking and improving your backcountry skills, you’ll tackle a fun construction project building turnpikes to raise the trail out of the mud and muck for hikers and horseback riders to enjoy. On Wednesday, sleep in before swimming in a beautiful lake or explore the area on a hike. Finish your project Thursday and Friday before hiking out Saturday for a much-deserved shower.
