The 2010 Snohomish County Get Movin' program kicks off on June 5th, National Trails Day

As many outdoor enthusiasts know June 5th is National Trails Day. There will be a lot of folks out hiking this weekend. For those hikers who live in Snohomish county, the time they spend on trail can add up to some great rewards if they participate in the Get Movin' program which also kicks off this Saturday.

The Get Movin' program is a free summer program for Snohomish County residents aimed at motivating families to improve their health by adopting a more active, healthy lifestyle through physical and recreational activities.

Participants can earn great rewards each week for meeting the goal of being active 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Of course hiking is a great activity to get your family out moving. WTA is excited to partner with the Get Movin' program and provide some great resources for folks to Get Hikin'. Check out these Ten Hikes in Snohomish County and start planning your summer activities.

Follow the 2009 Get Movin' essay winner, 9 year old, Becky Azura on her family blog to see where they have been hiking lately. Perhaps you will pass the Azura family on trail.
