Spend Spring Break with WTA
Youth have several opportunities to get on trail with WTA over spring break.
How are students planning to spend their spring break? Some might go on a trip or attend sports practice. Others may have no plans and find themselves wishing that had something to do.
WTA has just the solution for youth looking to do something outdoors this spring. For the first time WTA is offering a spring break Youth Volunteer Vacation at Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island. This front country trip will run April 3-8. The crew of high school students, ages 14-18, will enhance the North Beach Trails in the park.
For students on spring break later in April, WTA has a series of day trips starting Monday, April 18 thru (Earth Day) Friday, April 22. Students can sign up for one day or the entire week. Volunteers can earn up to eight hours of community service in a single day and after five work parties on trail volunteers earn a hard hat with their name on it!
Later this spring WTA will have even more youth specific service opportunities, including work parties for families. WTA is excited to get more young people outside and engaged in the hiking community. Look on the Youth Work Parties page for upcoming events.
