National Get Outdoors Day in Vancouver
June 14, 10: a.m - 3:00 p.m. Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, Vancouver
Introduce your family to the great outdoors without leaving town. Come on down to try fun outdoor activities and learn about climbing, fishing, archery, biking/bicycle clinics, hiking, camping, campfire cooking, and more. The U.S. Forest Service hosts this annual event with help from local non-profit groups including WTA. Also outdoor ambassadors like Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl, Ranger Rick, and their furry and feathered friends will be there too.
Summer Parkways in Spokane
June 18, 6:0 p.m - 9:00 p.m. Manito/Comstock Neighborhoods, Spokane
Family, fitness, and fun is the theme at this annual summer solstice community event, Spokane's biggest block party, now in its 5th year.
Streets are closed to motorized vehicles and opened up to bikes, pedestrians, skaters, and other human-powered transportation. Activities and booths can be found in Manito and Comstock Parks and along the designated 4 mile car-free route through the picturesque tree-lined streets of Manito and Comstock neighborhoods.
Find WTA's booth along the way and learn what we are working on locally.
