WTA's Photo Contest is Now Open
It's that time of year again! Enter your favorite hiking photos for a chance to win prizes and help tell the story of trails.
The Northwest Exposure Photo Contest always does an incredible job of sneaking up on us. One minute it's the start of summer and the next it's somehow August. How it happens we have no idea but even if it comes as a surprise it's certainly a welcome one. In all the years we've been putting together our photo contest, one thing is a constant: we're always inspired by the photos that are entered and we can't wait to see them every year.
The Northwest Exposure Photo Contest is more than just a photo contest. It's a way for WTA to put hikers at the forefront and highlight your contribution to our work. It lets us showcase the beauty of Washington, show off spectacular trails, and tell the story of these amazing places with the help of your incredible imagery. The photographers who enter the contest make that possible. Without you, our website, app and everything in between would look a lot different.
This year, we encourage entrants to consider all of the trails and greenspaces that Washington has to offer when submitting photos. Whether it's the park next door or a trail that isn't as well known as others, we love highlighting all the places and flora and fauna that make up Washington's trail system. A gorgeous green space within walking distance of home can produce a photo that rivals that of a mountaintop destination, so we encourage you to consider those photos when entering! And in case you're wondering, past entrants have won using phone cameras so there's no need to own a DSLR for a shot at taking home a prize.
The photo contest is open now through October 17th and features five categories to enter, so there's bound to be one (or more) for you! Take a look at the official entry page for more info on the categories, prizes, rules and more, and we hope to see your entries in this year's contest.
Best of luck, and happy hiking (and photographing)!
