Did a two overnight trip up the East Bank trail at Ross Lake. Trail is in fine shape. Some trees down after (north of) Rolland Creek but passable just fine.
Took a day hike up towards Desolation Peak. Passed a couple ladies on the trail who said they cut the path up to the top of Desolation, one with spikes and an ice ax cutting steps for the one who just had hiking boots. Sounds like they made it all the way up, they had stayed overnight at the camp a mile from the summit. My group made it up to 3000ft and decided it was too late in the day to keep going up. Trail was in excellent shape until we stopped. Seems to be limited water on this trail, we didn't pass any from the desolation peak trail split-off until we stopped. Visually it appeared the snow line was about 1000ft below the summit, it was melting out nicely.
