We made an attempt earlier in the year but were turned back by snow following the stream crossings. Went on an overnight to watch the eclipse and explore the basin.
The hike up to gothic basin and foggy lake is well documented and doesn't need to be rehashed (also there's usually other helpful people there to point you in the right direction).
Del Campo:
The scramble to Del Campo is the real jewel, though. You'll find a (not always easy to see) trail leading over the boulders close to the right side of foggy lake and begin ascending. Once you get to the top of the false summit (the last bit of green) you're greeted by talus. We followed the cairns until it was time to cross over one small strip of snow (10 meters at the narrowest point) and finish climbing the talus. During this section the stones will become smaller and looser while the slope gets steeper. I didn't have one but a helmet is definitely helpful juts in case scramblers ahead dislodge some stones. If you go as a group keep some distance between individuals to limit this risk. You then reach a small gulley cut into del campo and you want to start ascending the more solid stone on the left side. The previous trip report has a very helpful and descriptive illustration for this route. We took the least challenging route both ways: this involves climbing up and right until you reach (almost) the other side of the peak at which point you can continue your scramble to the peak. Good luck and stay safe!

Thanks for the beta! No crampons/axe necessary for that snow patch? Any chance you can advise on snow conditions on Gothic?

sure thing!
-no crampons, ice axe, microspikes are necessary for crossing that short little patch or snow (we were just careful and followed the already kicked in holes in the snow)
-there is a some dwindling patches of snow in the area around foggy lake but none on any path. The only snow you'll encounter in gothic basin is the snow you go and seek out explicitly
