Hiking Cirque Rim Nature Trail

This short paved trail has 2 termini on Hurricane Ridge Road about a quarter-mile apart (the trail itself is a half mile long).

Starting on the eastern end, climb uphill immediately, passing a junction to the Sunrise Viewpoint Nature Trail and then another junction to the High Ridge Nature Trail. Take a left when you hit a Y-junction about 0.1 mile from the trailhead. Come to the viewpoint in about 0.2 mile.

Continue straight until the next junction (only a few hundred feet ahead of you), then turn left to return to Hurricane Ridge Road. To return to your vehicle, head back the way you came, or walk along the sidewalk in the parking area.

This trail can be linked with many of the other trails in the area to create longer, more complex hikes.

Getting There

Head to Port Angeles via Highway 101. If coming from the east, turn left onto Race Street (if from the west, turn right onto Race Street). Follow this road through town until it becomes the Mount Angeles Road. At a Y, veer right onto Hurricane Ridge Road.

Drive this road for 16 steep and winding miles up to Hurricane Visitors Center. From the parking area, the trail begins at the entrance of the parking lot, to your right.
