Domerie Peak

Accessible via two separate trails (one on FR 4308-115 and the other on FR 4303-201), the Domerie Peak Trail offers hikers a steep climb to a ridgeline traverse with views of Cle Elum Lake and the surrounding peaks of the Teanaway.

For hikers beginning at Forest Service Road 4308-115, you will find a steeep trail climbing away from the trailside parking lot for three miles, reaching a summit of French Cabin Mountain.

From the summit, hike along the crest of this ridge, where you can enjoy views of sparkling Lake Cle Elum. On your way to Domerie Peak, you'll pass over Thomas Mountain and Mount Baldy, both popular hiking destinations.

Past Mount Baldy, Domerie Peak is your next destination. From there, it's possible to descend to the southern trailhead at a spur road near Domerie Creek. This makes for a 9-mile thru-hike, which will require a shuttle, pickup, or key swap to complete without having to invest a full 18-mile roundtrip.

It is also possible to access this trail from the Domerie Divide Trail (#1308.2) via Easton Ridge Trail (#1212). From the trail's junction with 1212, hike about one and a half miles along the east rim of the canyon above Silve Creek.

You then begin hiking straight up the hill, to the top of the ridge between Thomas Mountain and Mount Baldy, where you join the Domerie Peak trail (#1308). While it's a stiff hike, with excellent views and provides a great workout, remember that this trail is not maintained, and can be hard to find in places.
