In Washington, trails can be found just about anywhere. This one takes off from Parking Lot F on the campus of Evergreen State College! A short hike down to a lovely beach, this is just the ticket for students and families alike.
From Lot F, which is free on weekends, and only a dollar to park for under two hours on weekdays, a wide, easy-to-follow trail leads into green forest. Follow boardwalks and bridges to the beach below, where there are opportunities to see wildlife and beautiful flora. At night, bioluminescence can be seen in the water, so make this a destination if you're a student at the college.
This two-mile roundtrip hike is ideal for kids and dogs, but you may want to to wait until the little ones can trek on their own; it's a bit hard to navigate a stroller on the dirt path.
