Hiking Land of Legends (Hoh Valley)

An uncrowded alternative to the Hall of Mosses and Hoh River Trail, this sweet, meandering trail is made available to the public thanks to the owners of Peak 6 Adventure Store on Upper Hoh Road.

If you arrive at the Hall of Mosses and the area is busy, head back up the road a ways to the Land of Legends trail. It has free parking and with towering trees and a lush understory similar to the Hall of Mosses.

Once you leave the lot, embark on a 2 mile lollipop loop through a forest of towering spruce, hemlock and bigleaf maple. You'll be heading to Linder Creek. There's another trail on the other side of the highway that goes down to the Hoh River with a view of Mount Olympus.

If you visit, consider reviewing the map they've provided. It's a charming illustrated document, and you can get a sense of what you can see before you get there.
