Hiking Port Gamble Forest - Tessa's Trail Loop

The Port Gamble Forest has a vast network of trails. This loop connects several of those trails together at the very northern tip of the trail network.

Start from the Port Gamble Trailhead, heading south on the Beaver Pond Trail. After about six tenths of a mile you’ll arrive at a dirt road named G1100 on maps. Turn left, walk down the road for a few hundred feet, then turn right onto the first trail you encounter, called Springs Trail. After about two tenths of a mile on Springs Trail continue straight to stay on Ranger Trail. There are several trails intersecting here so a map will be essential to stay on track. Download a map from Kitsap County Parks.

Stay on Ranger Trail for four tenths of a mile, before arriving at another dirt road. Turn left, walk a couple hundred feet to a fork where you’ll go right. Continue for about 800 feet to another road intersection where you’ll turn right. Now you’re on road G1300.

Continue on G1300, which travels north, forming the western boundary of this loop route. After a little less than a mile (just after the road turns decidedly to the right) you’ll arrive at Tessa’s Trail. Head down this trail for a short ways until it ends at Road G100. Turn left and walk north on G100 until you arrive at a fork. Turn right to follow the road back to the parking area.
