Hiking Sunset Pond Park

Although the trail to Sunset Pond in Bellingham is short, it gives hikers the chance to connect to the 1-mile-long Squalicum Creek Trail. Hikers can also take the trail on the south side of the pond to a set of stairs on a trail easement that leads to Orleans St. 

While at Sunset Pond, hikers may see fishers and other water recreators.

Getting There

Driving Directions

If heading north on I-5, take exit 255. Use the middle lane to turn right onto E Sunset Dr, and take the next left onto James St. Then, take the immediate next left to stay on James St. Continue for 0.4 mile (the road will veer to the right) and turn left onto Woodstock Way. The parking lot will soon be on your right. 

Take transit

Take Whatcom Transportation Authority routes 232 or 331 to the James St at Sunset Pond stop.
