Point Defiance Park — Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020

Puget Sound and Islands

Full of trails that intersect, it is easy to get caught up in the beauty of Pt. Defiance even on a damp winter day. Know as the largest urban park in Pierce County, the network of roads and trails weaving through the forest preserve provides a quiet retreat for joggers, cyclists, and hikers.

We parked at the Rhodendron Garden and just started walking.

Ferns, moss, old growth trees and a scenic look across the water at the Narrows, Dalco Passage and Vashon Island.

For those who have need a little of both forest and beach, this is a perfect treasure worth seeing the in winter.
