Discovery Park Beach and Highlands Loop — Saturday, Mar. 28, 2020

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

Urban day hike Saturday March 28. We parked off 21st and Emerson by the Fishermans Terminal, just outside of the Magnolia boundary.

Our hike was thru Magnolia and into Discovery Park. To practice social distancing, we followed the cyclist route directly on Discovery Park Blvd (as much as possible) all the way to the beach and Lighthouse point.

Important to note all parking lots are currently closed in the park. We still saw a lot of cars, either opting to park where they could along the streets, which seemed acceptable or illegally near the Waste Treatment facility which had signs warning a tow and fine.

Overall there were a fair amount of people enjoying the trails and beach, as well as cyclists along the road route. Spotted a large bald eagle hunting just past the pedestrian bridge to the beach.

Roundtrip our route was around 6 miles.

Careful not to step on these guys
