I hiked the Badger Mountain Canyon Trail with my wife and two small dogs. The trail was moderately busier around midday on a Sunday. The trail has a very steep incline at the first portion of the hike, with a brief period of steep steps before leveling out to rocks and dust. It was a decently warm day, but a combination of the high exposure and incline had us breaking a sweat. The trail winds around the hills with multiple benches for resting before reaching the peak of the trail. It was a clear day, and we could clearly make out the top of Mount Rainier in the distance to the west. The trail has a much more gradual decline on the way down, and continues for another 2 miles. No bugs or rattlesnakes, but the winds were so strong they would occasionally kick up a large bunch of dust and blow towards you.

mato on Badger Mountain - Canyon Trail
My sister used to live in Tri-Cities, and that was the go-to hike around there. If you haven't already, check out the Twin Sisters rocks - not much of a hike, but some good exploring. (and give us some photos next time.)
